Conrad was just 28 years old when he led his team ‘LG Flatron' to the finish of the BT Global Challenge in 1st place. Conrad attributes this success to the winning attitude cultivated within the team, the driving philosophies being "winning is infectious" and "self-belief is everything".

Conrad Humphreys 's Background
Conrad Humphreys is an inspirational team leader and world-class British yachtsman, as well as a renowned personality in the south-west and on the international sailing scene. Despite only being in his thirties, Conrad has already crammed a lifetime of adventure and achievement into his life enduring some of the most hostile oceans of the world.
Conrad has raced around the world in three different races. The book "Inspiring Leadership : Staying Afloat in Turbulent Times" was based on the research from this race, in which Conrad's leadership style and team's qualities are referred to throughout the publication.
Conrad's ambition did not stop there. In 2004 he built a campaign with the global communications company Motorola, to compete in the non-stop single-handed round-the-world Vendée Globe yacht race.
Many thought his race was over when his yacht's rudder was broken following a collision with a floating object in the water, however Conrad's single-minded determination saw him make his way back up the fleet finishing in 7th place after 104 days racing alone at sea, becoming only the 5th British sailor in history to complete the legendary race. His story has been described as one of the most remarkable comebacks in the history of the event.

As well as presenting on a stage in front of an audience, Conrad's natural ease in front of the camera has found him providing commentary for the BBC, live interviews for Sky News, as well as studio appearances for "Big Brother's Little Brother" as a leadership expert. Recently, Conrad was approached by the celebrated high-end fashion designer, Carolina Herrera to be one of the eight men to epitomise her new fragrance ‘CH for Men'. To complement the launch of the fragrance, Conrad contributed towards a limited edition book "CH Men: Travel Diaries". He is also featured in a number of publications, including "Extreme Sail" foreword by Dame Ellen MacArthur and "Champions for Change- Athletes Making a World of Difference" by The Global Sports Alliance. Conrad's enthralling Vendée Globe Solo Round the World race is also documented in a DVD film "Against The Odds".
